About New
Hope
New Hope's desire is to be an expression of Christianity with a contemporary edge; exploring new ways of being church which are relevant today whilst remaining true to its biblical roots. We want to be a church where those who want to explore what Christianity is all about can do so in a way that relates to real life in our culture, and in a non-threatening way. We believe that Jesus offers new hope to any who seek it.
Our vision is to see a Spirit filled church planted in the heart of the community of Cheadle Hulme, sharing the good news that new hope can be found in Jesus Christ.
A Brief History
The church was planted out from Poynton Christian Fellowship in December 1997. Families from PCF started the new church in Cheadle Hulme, and it was initially led by Glyn Thomas and his wife Betty.
On 11th November 2001 Trevor and Michelle Mobbs moved to Cheadle Hulme from Poynton to take on the leadership of the church and the church celebrated the start of 2002 with a new name - New Hope Community Church.
Now meeting as an independent House Church under the leadership of Anthia Frank and Roland Ogden, their desire is to see a continuation of the ongoing exciting journey of New Hope. |
