Outreach Plus

A free and independent charity offering free, confidential and impartial advice on issues affecting people's lives.

Eligibility:

Outreach Plus beds – Be rough sleeping in Watford Borough. Watford Borough Council can refer into the service if we have voids. After accessing a bed, assessments are made and we will look at viable move on options if available. Sometimes, it may be a brief respite from rough sleeping.

The Haven

Humanitarian aid for people facing homelessness: hot food, showers, laundry facilities, and clean clothes. Additional help and advice for people threatened with homelessness or who are homeless but not rough sleeping.

Eligibility:

Haven services are open to people sleeping rough in the Watford area.

Emergency Accommodation

Short-term accommodation based at the Sanctuary.

Eligibility:

Have a Watford connection (have lived her for five of the last six years) and,
Be in receipt of benefits (to be able to claim Housing Benefit and pay service charge) and,
Be able to fund the first week service charge of £21 (£3 per day) and,
Have a referral from the Haven or other New Hope services.

There is some accommodation for people with Restricted Eligibility.

Recovery Service

Longer-term accommodation for people experiencing substance and/or alcohol misuse.

Eligibility:

Be focussed on recovery to addiction and able to do a 28-day respite period on entry.
If currently using illicit street heroin: be actively engaging with prescribed Opiate Substitute Treatment with CGL or Meadowell Surgery.
If currently using alcohol:
to be actively engaging with CGL for a period of time around their current alcohol issue and have been seen by a medically trained clinician. CGL would then be able to liaise with the Recovery Services, with consent from the service user.
All service users will be required to engage with all in-house Focused Recovery Groups and therapeutic chores.
