Matthew Heasman BEd, MA, NPQH
Chief Executive Officer
Matthew was appointed CEO in May 2013 following a 23-year career in the education sector, which included six years as the deputy head teacher of one of London’s largest junior schools, followed by almost a decade as a head teacher in Hertfordshire. During this period his achievements included leading the merger of two schools, as well as helping to establish a children’s centre. Matthew’s main areas of leadership expertise include managing change, managing conflict and cross-organisation partnership working. Since his arrival at New Hope, Matthew has implemented a comprehensive five-year strategy. The result of this has seen several changes which are enabling the charity to adjust successfully to a reduced level of statutory funding, whilst facing a continued increase in the number of people facing homelessness locally.
