On Christmas Day, Mrs Jenny Smith, Head of Year Seven at Watford Girls Grammar School, braved the icy waters of Weymouth Harbour and raised over £2,000 for us.
Jenny said, ‘It was beyond freezing! Certainly out of my comfort zone, but a hot shower awaited. Only two things kept me going: 1) pride and 2) the amount of money that had been pledged.’
We’re all so grateful to Jenny for swimming in such cold water on Christmas Day and raising such an incredible amount. The money she raised, along with other money raised by the year seven girls, will go towards our crisis accommodation which gives people a safe place to stay as early as possible – ideally before they sleep rough at all.
