Big generosity from Little Green School!

In the weeks running up to Christmas, the Woodward family, inspired by their collection of gifts for vulnerable people in previous years, decided to involve their son’s school, Little Green in Croxley Green, for a much larger collection for families supported by New hope who are staying in temporary accommodation.

Callum Woodward, a pupil at Little Green, said “I did this because I didn’t like the idea of people like me not getting any presents this year. My mum does this every year and we had fun putting the gift bags together. I thought other people at school might like to do this too.”

People living in temporary accommodation rarely have many items of their own as they have often been rapidly rehoused to escape a crisis and move around often. An incredible 66 gift packs were collected by the school children and their families, each containing brand new and high-quality toys and treats to be given as gifts to the children (and parents) who would otherwise be unlikely to receive a single present. The school is also donating an amazing £200 that was collected during their Christmas production!

Clare Crawford, PSHE Lead at Little Green, said “The gift collection for New Hope not only cultivated a spirit of giving, but also taught our pupils the tangible impact of their kindness during the holiday season while making a positive difference in the lives of others.”

New Hope would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for the incredible generosity of everyone at Little Green School – you have really changed so many people’s lives for the better this Christmas.
