Fantastic fundraising by local friends

Recently, a group of local friends got together to hold a plant sale at their local residents’ association’s summer fair in aid of New Hope. The girls grew, harvested from their gardens and collected donations from grandparents and friends to stock their store and had quite the range available for sale.

“Gardening has really benefited us as it’s rewarding to watch things that we’ve planted grow. Throughout lockdown, gardening allowed us to be outdoors and focus on our wellbeing, at a time when we spent a lot of time indoors and doing school work online.”

As it was the perfect weather for a plant sale, their store was a huge success raising a huge amount of money for New Hope. It’s always so encouraging when young people put on their own fundraisers for our work and the amazing donation of £997 will make a big difference in people’s lives.

“We knew we wanted to do something for charity and my friend’s mum suggested New Hope because she was familiar with the work they do. It’s a really great charity and we can’t imagine what it would be like to be homeless.”
