Volunteer Befriender - Tenancy Sustainment Team

Hours: We need volunteers between Monday and Friday

Frequency: Ideally once per week

Location: Watford area

The Tenancy Sustainment Team (TST) support people in their own homes. This includes our own HopeHomes which offer supported living as a stepping stone to living independently. Our role is to help people thrive in their own home and prevent any reoccurrence of issues which had led them to homelessness in the first place and encourage our service users to make positive and well considered decisions for their future.

We are looking for compassionate befriender volunteers to engage with service users who are being supported by TST. As a befriender you will spend a few hours each week with New Hope individuals, acting as a mentor - helping them to build confidence and to develop skills to live independently.

Volunteers must be aged 18 years or over; be able to commit to a regular schedule of volunteering; be able to follow instructions and work within a set of guidelines. Befrienders must adhere to confidentiality rules at all times; respect the dignity and privacy of service users and liaise with staff to share relevant information. Online training for the role will be provided.

For more information about this role, contact Nic Platt on 01923 210 680 or by emailing nplatt@newhope.org.uk. To apply for this role, please click the button below.
