Volunteer Cook - Sanctuary Emergency Accommodation
Hours: Mondays 4pm to 6.30pm
Frequency: Ideally every week
Location: The Sanctuary, Central Watford
The Sanctuary Emergency Accommodation offers short-term accommodation to those sleeping rough as well as meals, laundry facilities and practical support. It works with each individual service user, helping them towards moving into longer-term accommodation.
The Sanctuary is looking for volunteer cooks to prepare meals on Mondays.
The role involves preparing, cooking and serving meals and washing up and cleaning cooking area. This role would suit anyone who enjoys cooking and feels confident preparing meals for a large group. No professional cooking experience is needed β just a willingness to get involved and make a difference.
This could also be a great opportunity for two people to volunteer together so why not volunteer with your partner, friend or another family member? Itβs a great opportunity to spend quality time together while making a meaningful difference in your local community
Volunteers must be aged 18 and over; be confident in the kitchen; reliable and punctual; have good awareness of boundaries; be able to stand for the period of volunteering and work well independently and as part of a team.
You will receive full appropriate training and ongoing support from the staff team at the Sanctuary Emergency Accommodation.

Volunteers must be aged 18 years or over, be able to commit to a regular schedule of volunteering and be able to follow instructions and work within a set of guidelines The ability to build a good rapport with our service users is also important. Relevant training for the role will be provided.
