A day by the sea: New Hope residents’ big trip to Littlehampton

Residents from New Hope House and HopeHomes recently enjoyed a memorable day out at the seaside in Littlehampton.

Organised by the Cultivate team and funded by donations, the trip gave residents the chance to take a break from their usual routines and spend a relaxing day together by the scenic West Sussex coast. 

The touring party included five residents from New Hope House, one from HopeHomes, six members of staff and a volunteer driver.

With the sun shining, the group settled on the beach and made the most of their time beside the sea. Some braved the water for a paddle, while others enjoyed call games or simply sitting on the sand, chatting and taking in the seaside atmosphere.

No trip to the coast would be complete without an ice cream and day ended with a classic seaside favourite – fish and chips enjoyed together with the squark of seagulls over head.

The trip was a great opportunity for residents from New Hope House and HopeHomes to spend time together, enjoy a change of scenery and create some positive memories.

For people who may have experienced difficult times, opportunities like this can provide a welcome chance to relax, build friendships and enjoy a day away from everyday pressures.

It was a simple but special day – a paddle in the sea, an ice cream, fish and chips, and plenty of time together – making for a memorable visit to Littlehampton.
