Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP+)
New Hope, in partnership with local churches and Watford Borough Council, is providing emergency shelter every night in December 2018 and January 2019. SWEP+ will provide up to 15 people with a safe place to sleep, away from the wind, the rain, the cold and the dangers of the street as well as food and hot drinks. The Haven Support Centre is located at 4 Whippendell Road, Watford and places are allocated on a first come first served basis by contacting the Rough Sleeping Prevention Service between 8:30am and 1pm, 1:45 to 3:30pm. If you are rough sleeping, or you're concerned about someone who is, call our 24/7 emergency line on 0300 012 0168.
Thank you to everyone who has already volunteered for SWEP+, our winter night shelter. We are still in need of more volunteers to help so that we can run this emergency accommodation every night in December and January. More details on how to volunteer can be found at www.newhope.org.uk/volunteer. If you are unable to volunteer but would like to support the winter night shelter, we also require porridge (individual microwavable pots), Cup-a-Soup, sugar and coffee so that people can have something warm to eat and drink. Please give Sam a call on 01923 227 132 or email email@example.com for more information.
