Being homeless is hard at any time of year, but in winter - especially around Christmas - the streets of Watford become colder, darker, lonelier and infinitely more dangerous. It’s not just the freezing temperatures that bite. It’s the isolation, the fear, and the overwhelming knowledge that while others gather in the warm with loved ones around dinner tables piled high with food, you are hungry, lonely and trying to stay alive through another bitter night.
New Hope’s Haven plays a vital role for people experiencing homelessness all year round, but the work is even more crucial during the unforgiving winter months. Providing more than temporary shelter, we provide dignity, compassion, non-judgemental care, and paths out of homelessness.
This Christmas, please donate to New Hope’s Home for Christmas appeal, and give people facing homelessness in Watford, a place that’s safe, dry, warm and full of love – away from the freezing temperatures and the lonely streets.
A donation of £52.72 can provide someone in crisis with expert support from our compassionate and kind staff at the Haven as well as a safe place to rest, eat and wash.
